Members of the Hasbrouck Heights community are banding together in support of a friend in need. A benefit dinner has been organized at the Venetian in Garfield on March 7 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. for “Desiree.”

Supporters say “Desiree is so many things to so many of us. She is a mother, daughter, sister, and a friend. Desiree is a resident of Hasbrouck Heights and a little over a year ago lost the love of her life, her husband Mark, who passed away suddenly. Now a year after his passing Desiree was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. She has two young children. Please help us raise money for her and her family.”

The event will include food, music, and raffles. The event organizers are looking to fill tables of 10 and the cost is $100 per person. All donations should be sent to "Dedicated to Desiree" at P.O. Box 83 in Wyckoff, NJ 07481 by Feb. 20. Checks should be made payable to THE CHIC CHARITY CLUB.
