Hasbrouck Heights High Ranks Among Top 100 in State
Hasbrouck Heights High School rises from #107 up to #72 on the New Jersey Monthly top public schools list.
Hasbrouck Heights High School has climbed its way up onto the top 100 NJ public schools list published by New Jersey Monthly Magazine.
The magazine publishes the report every two years. Hasbrouck Heights High School just missed the top 100 in 2010 coming in at 107. Now the high school has risen quite substantially since, up 35 points to number 72.
The high school rankings are compiled by a scoring system based on factors which includes school environment, student outcomes and student performance.
Figures from the state Department of Education’s most recent New Jersey School Report Card for the 2010-2011 year were used for the report, according to the magazine’s website. Superintendent Mark Porto could not be reached for comment on Tuesday in regards to the news.
New Jersey Monthly will publish the top public schools list in its September issue which will be available at newsstands later this month.
The chart below shows how Hasbrouck Heights High School compares with some area high schools. Tenafly High School remains at number 3 on the list, the highest rated school in the county, with Glen Rock High School coming in right behind.
