M.O.P.S. members Beatrice Williams and Jane Sparling are gearing up for a trip to the Philippines this October where they will work with the International Graduate School of Leadership showing women who are the wives of men in ministry how to run a M.O.P.S meeting and events.

Sparling who has a friendship with a woman in the Phillipines who belongs to The Evangelical Alliance Mission invited the Heights based M.O.P.S. group to come and share their knowledge with these women.

Their message of the M.O.P.S. will spread far and wide as the women of the IGSL come from 14 differnet countries and will be setting up their own M.O.P.S. groups when they return home, explained Williams.

This is the first mission trip for the Heights based M.O.P.S. Williams is bringing her son Brandon along on the mission. Although he is not part of M.O.P.S. he is quite knowledgable of technology and and has handyman skills he can use to help the group with whatever it may need during the visit.

It's not always easy for people to get out and join the M.O.P.S. group but more mothers have continued to join over the years and this past season has been fantastic, said Williams.

"MOPS is a really important aspect to these women's lives," said Williams of the friendships that form and the support they give one another.

In addition to its regular meeting on the fourth Thursday of the month, the group started a Friday afternoon meeting which also meetings monthly, providing another opportunity for moms to get together. The group also started its own online blog.

Those wishing to help the M.O.P.S in their mission could send donations to the church on behalf of the M.O.P.S. trip.
