Police: Boy Struck By Vehicle is Recovering

A 13-year old was rushed to the hospital Monday evening after he was struck by a vehicle on Williams Avenue, said Hasbrouck Heights Police.

A 13-year old boy who was struck by a vehicle Monday evening while he was walking down Williams Avenue is going to be okay, according to Hasbrouck Heights Police Officer Ian Robertson.

The boy was rushed to the hospital Monday just before 6:30 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle which was making a left out of the 24Hour Fitness lot while he was walking in the street down Williams Avenue near Hasbrouck Avenue, said Robertson.

The boy sustained injuries to his lower legs, said Robertson. He believed the injuries were not too serious. Robertson said according to the boy's mother he was still in some pain but is making a recovery. The officer was not aware of whether the boy was still hospitalized or had since been released.

The driver of the vehicle was issued a summons for careless driving, said Robertson.
