Register for Children's Programs, Activities at Heights Library

Winter series of story times, book clubs, activities and more begins at the public library this month.

 

Registration has begun for the Hasbrouck Heights Public Library children’s programs for the winter season.

Story times include:

Tiny Tots for infants to age 2 ½ with their parent or caregiver on Tuesdays or Thursdays from10:30 to 11:15 a.m.

Book Buddies for children ages 2 ½ to 3 ½ with a  parent or caregiver which meets on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.

Building Blocks for children ages 3 ½ to 5 on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 1:15 to 2 p.m. Caregivers must remain in the building during story time.

Book groups include:

Book Lovers for children in grades Kindergarten and first meets on Friday per month (Jan. 11, Feb. 8 and March 8) from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Activities includes stories and crafts.

Best Books Discussion Group for children in grades 2nd and 3rd meet on one Friday per month (Jan. 11, Feb. 1 and March 1). Books provided by the library.

Critic’s Choice Discussion Group for children in grades 4 to 6. Meets Fridays, Jan. 18, Feb. 15 and March 15 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Books provided by the library.

Craft nights are held once a month on Monday evenings. The next events are set for Feb. 11 and March 11 from 7 to 8 p.m.

Chess Club for children in grades 7 to 12 meets on Thursdays, Jan. 17, Feb. 21, March 21 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Also the Junior Women’s Club sponsors pajama story time on Thursday, Jan. 17, Feb. 21 and March 21 from 7 to 7:45 p.m.

Once again the library will host activities during the week of Feb. 21 during school break. The stuffed animal sleepover will return March 15 to March 16.
