DESCRIPTION:Bergen&nbsp\;LEADS\,&nbsp\;BergenCounty&rsquo\;s premier civi
 c leadership program that is sponsored by the Volunteer Center of Bergen
  County\, will present an evening workshop on board service for individu
 als who wish to serve on a non-profit board or for those already engaged
  as a board member.\nBoardLink&nbsp\;will be presented on&nbsp\;Wednesda
 y\, January 23\, 2013\, from&nbsp\;3 pm&nbsp\;to&nbsp\;9 pm&nbsp\;at IKE
 A\,&nbsp\;100 Ikea Drive&nbsp\;in&nbsp\;Paramus.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;\nCost to 
 attend is $100 per person\, which includes dinner and all course materia
 ls.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;A group rate of 3 registrations for $175 is also availa
 ble to agencies that are members of theVolunteer&nbsp\;Center.&nbsp\;&nb
 sp\;\nPre-registration is required for this limited-seating program.&nbs

 n LEADS\, will give a general overview of the roles and responsibilities
  of a non-profit Board of Directors.&nbsp\;Ron Matan and Bridget Hartnet
 t of&nbsp\;&nbsp\;CPA firm Sobel &amp\; Company\, will speak about board
  fiduciary responsibilities\, including audits and reading financial sta
 tements.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;\nLinda Czipo from the Center for Non-Profits will
  lead a discussion on ethics\, risk management\, lobbying and advocacy f
 or agencies.&nbsp\;Kim Caesar from Hackensack University Medical Center'
 s Sanzari Children&rsquo\;s Hospital\, will join Jane He from the&nbsp\;
 Volunteer&nbsp\;Center&nbsp\;to talk about a Board&rsquo\;s role in fund
 -raising.\nUpon completion of the workshop\, the Volunteer&nbsp\;Center&
 nbsp\;will help match participants to a board that is in need of their p
 articular skills\, talents and interests.
