Ecumenical Service, Stations of the Cross, Easter Services Set

Schedule of services for Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday

Numerous church services and other events in honor of Easter are set for this weekend at Hasbrouck Heights congregations.

In addition to each church’s schedule of events, religious leaders of all borough churches will come together at the First Reformed Church on Good Friday at 12 p.m. for a special ecumenical service which the entire community is welcome to attend.

On Friday evening the youth group of both Corpus Christi Church and its sister congregation Assumption Church in Wood-Ridge will present the Living Stations of the Cross. This is the fifth year the youth group will present this service which will be held at Corpus Christi Church. The service begins at 7:30 p.m.

The following is a list of services taking place at borough congregations

Holy Thursday: Services will take place at 7:30 p.m. chapel adoration, and from 9:30 p.m. to midnight in the church.

Good Friday – There will be service at 3 p.m. in the chapel and the Living Stations of the Cross at 7:30 p.m. at the church.

Saturday – Easter Vigil will begin at 7:30 p.m. There will not be a 5 p.m. mass.

Easter Sunday – Easter mass will be held at 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m.  and 12 p.m. There will not be a mass at 6 p.m.

Maundy Thursday service will take place at the sister church of St. Martin’s of Maywood at 7:30 p.m.

Good Friday service will be held at St. Martin’s at 7:30 p.m.

Easter Sunday mass will be held at St. John’s at 10 a.m.; Sinabro Church will host services at 12:30 p.m.

Maundy Thursday services begin at 7:30 p.m.

Good Friday services will be held at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Maywood from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Saturday – Easter Vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church.

Easter Sunday mass will be held at 11 a.m.

Thursday and Friday the final two performances of “The Jesus Story” will take place at the Felician College theater at 8 p.m.

Saturday there will be a men’s breakfast at 8 a.m.

Easter Sunday services will take place at 8:30 am. (traditional) and 11 a.m. (contemporary). There will be no Sunday school.

Maundry Thursday – pot luck supper at 6 p.m.

Good Friday – Ecumenical services featuring religious leaders of other churches in the borough will take place at 12 p.m.

Easter Sunday service - 7 a.m. sunrise service on the lawn, Regular service will take place at 10 a.m.

Easter Day service begins at 9:30 a.m. for the Methodist congregation. The Cornerstone congregation service begins at 11 a.m.
