Heights Honors Junior Police Chief Marybeth Barrios

Marybeth Barrios' role as junior police chief hasn't ended  just yet.

Tuesday night the youngster sported her uniform once again as she was presented with a certificate of appreciation from the Hasbrouck Heights mayor and council for her role as "Police Chief for a Day" last month.

The 6-year-old who suffers from a severe seizure disorder was chosen by Police Chief Michael Colaneri to serve in this special role last month where she spent the day touring the police department, visiting borough hall and then going to the Bergen County Courthouse where she and the Chief joined other junior chiefs from other departments.

Chief Colaneri said Chief Barrios was a fine ambassador of the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department. She always thinks of others as she told him she planned to share the treats she got as Chief for a Day with her sister and went out of her way to talk to a little girl at the county courthouse who looked like she was all by herself, said the Chief.
