Friday evening the Cub Scouts Pack 17 family gathered under the pavillion in Woodland Park for a campfire and ice cream making event. Matthew Adamkiewicz, den leader and pack committee chair, got the fire started as an excited group of scouts watched. With the help of den leaders like Cindy Capozzi and other parents the kids made their own ice cream by combining sugar, vanilla and cream into a small baggie which they later placed in a larger bag filled with ice and Kosher salt. The kids had a blast shaking up the bags and then enjoying the best part - eating the ice cream.
