Heights White Castle Serves Up Romance on Valentine's Day

White Castle on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights proved once again to be a well-known hot spot for couples on Valentine's Day.

Couples flocked to Hasbrouck Heights to spend their Valentine's Day at the only place where they can have an affordable meal in a romantic setting with a side of French Fries - White Castle.

For the fifth year in a row, the Heights White Castle staff seated customers, waited on tables, under a sea of red balloons and other festive decor. Roses, candles and little candies decorated the red covered tables and special menus greeted the guests who lined up at the door waiting to be seated.

The special promotion just gets more popular each year. Peter Chelak, the area supervisor, said they were completely booked for the night at this location and  at their Little Ferry restaurant.

For Bill and Jamie McNeil the White Castle is the only place go to celebrate the most romantic day of the year, which is also their wedding anniversary. The Rochelle Park couple says they prefer the laid back environment, the prices are good and they know exactly what they are getting.

Same goes for Larry and Terri Waxman who came over from Clifton for their second White Castle Valentine's Day. Larry raves about the experience saying the place is more decorated than some restaurants. The food is great, the wait staff is terrific, it's BYOB and it's got friendly atmophere, he says.

Many couples like to make it a fun group outing. Roseann Spiekermann and her husband Joe of Secaucus returned for the fourth year in a row bringing Donna and Garrett Vanalstyne along once again and Ann and Ken Arena, who were experiencing it for the first time.

Some said they enjoy White Castle all the time and it's especially fun to come out on Valentine's Day to enjoy the extra treats, like the dessert and all the decorations.
