The work is part of an ongoing project to revitalize the Boulevard with new sidewalks, pavers and lighting. The project began about two years ago with the revitalization of Boulevard from Washington up to Jefferson.

The work is funded predominantly by grants from the state Department of Transporation. The borough has already received funding towards the next phase of the project, the section of the Boulevard from Hamilton to Walter and has plans to apply for a grant to fund the next street Walter up to Division.
