Hasbrouck Heights community will take part in the annual parade and tree lighting ceremony the Friday after Thanksgiving, a longstanding borough tradition.

One week from Friday, the Hasbrouck Heights community will kick-off the holiday season with its annual parade and tree lighting ceremony, a long standing tradition in the borough.

Once again the event will begin with the holiday parade sponsored by the Hasbrouck Heights Chamber of Commerce.

Local organizations, the Hasbrouck Heights High School Marching band and, of course, Santa Claus in his sleigh will parade up  the Boulevard towards the traffic circle at Passaic Avenue where the tree lighting ceremony, sponsored by the Mayor's Celebrations Commitee, will take place.

The community is invited to join in the singing of carols which will proceed the lighting of the tree. Refreshments will be offered at the TD Bank which is located right at the circle and the community will be invited to the senior center afterwards for more refreshment and children can have their photos taken with Santa Claus.

The parade will begin at 7 p.m. on the Boulevard in the area of Lawrence and Williams avenues.
