Lego Lovers Construct Masterpieces in Competition

Hasbrouck Heights Library hosted the 23rd annual Lego Competition Saturday.

Everyone was a winner Saturday as all the children who participated in this year's Lego Competition walked away with a prize and an award for their construction and creativity.

Children and their parents and siblings filled the community room at the municipal building Saturday morning armed with boxes of Legos ready to compete in the 23rd annual Lego competition which the Hasbrouck Heights Public Library presents each year.

Kids worked on their Lego projects alone or with a friend or sibling. All of the Lego construction was judged by a team which included Mayor Rose Heck, Fire Chief Richard Giarratana, Library Board President Lisa Traina, Nick Carvaella of Iovino Architects and Rosalie Nichols the former children's librarian.
