Suspect in Former Heights Man's Murder Flees Country

Reports say the suspect in the murder of Michael Jones, a youth soccer coach who formerly lived in Hasbrouck Heights, has fled to Mexico City.

The suspect in the killing of a former Hasbrouck Heights resident who was found slashed to death in New York City this weekend has reportedly fled to Mexico City according to Associated Press reports on NJ.com.

Reports say the suspect, Orlando Orea, who also goes by Orlando Gutierrez and Orlando Estevas, purchased a one-way ticket to Mexico City on Tuesday. By the time his name was placed on the no-fly list he had already fled, according to the AP.

Orea is the suspect in the killing of Michael Jones a youth soccer coach who lived in Hasbrouck Heights before moving to West Harriman, New York. A native of Liverpool, England, Jones, 25, worked as a coach for the New York Red Bulls soccer team.

He was found early Sunday morning on 14th street near 5th Avenue with  "multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest" according to a New York Post report.
