Woodland Park Pavillion Work Begins

Construction workers began the demolition Monday of the decades-old pavilion at Woodland Park to make way for the construction of a new one which will come this Spring.

Workers were seen taking the old pavillion apart piece by piece, leaving the old brick fireplace in tact. The fireplace, which was given to the borough by the Lions Club, decades ago will be preserved as the new structure will be built around it.

The project is expected to be completed by May 1.  Half of the project is being paid for by a Bergen County Open Trust Fund grant. The borough is funding the other half of the costs.
