The Cub Scouts of Pack 17 in Hasbrouck Heights participated in the annual “Salute to Veterans” ceremony held at the N.J. Aviation Hall of Fame on Nov. 10th. The boys led the participants and attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance and marched as part of the honor guard. The Salute to Veterans ceremony is held every year on Veterans Day.
The program consisted of the Master of Ceremonies Fritz Rethage, from VFW Post 4591, the presentation of the colors, and a keynote address from Viktor Tkaczenko who served in the US Army counterintelligence from 1951-54, a 21 gun salute, Taps, and the singing of God Bless America.
