Meet Kenya, Scarlett and Oreo at the Bergen County Animal Shelter

Bergen County Animal Shelter conducts adoptions 7 days a week.

The Bergen County Animal Shelter located in Teterboro always has great animals in their care available for adoption seven days a week.

Kenya (ID#89544) is a female bit bull terrier mix.  Happy and always in a good mood, this sweet girl was found as a stray and is looking for an active and loving family who will keep that smile going forever. At 5-6 years old, this silly Pit Bull is mighty social and will be delighted to meet just about anyone. That is why continued socialization will be key. No matter what, Kenya will be the life of the party and will enjoy every minute spent with her human friends. Kenya should not be in a home with cats.

Meet Scarlett (ID#89612) a 1-2 year old female Retriever Mix. Anxious and confused, this poor sweetie is wondering what she's doing in such a chaotic place. Because she was abandoned at the shelter, the shelter has no understanding of her past, so the staff looks only to her future. Because this is an overwhelming environment, Scarlett will probably take a little longer to adjust but it's certain she will come out of her shell and will learn to bond in no time. With a confident handler, she will blossom and hopefully learn to trust once more.

Meet Oreo (ID#89439) a medium sized adult male black and white cat who is one of many lovable cats at the shelter. He is also up to date on all vaccinations, and has been neutered.
