Blizzard Warning Remains in Effect into Saturday

Hasbrouck Heights could wake up to a total of 12 inches of snow Saturday morning.

Heavy snowfall is expected to continue overnight Friday into Saturday leaving the Hasbrouck Heights area with another 4 to 8 inches by Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

By 9 p.m. Friday roughly 5.7 inches fell in the area according to the weather service. Snowfall is expected to continue to about 9 a.m. Saturday. Blizzard warning remains in effect until 1 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Hasbrouck Heights Recreation Department announced all events planned for the weekend would be cancelled which includes " the Recreation center, The Senior Center activities, Travel Boys and Girls Basketball, Recreation basketball practices, Recreation Wrestling practice and Saturday's home match, 1st & 2nd grade boys and girls basketball clinics at and all 5th 6th 7th 8th boys and girls basketball games scheduled for Saturday," according to a Facebook post.

Hasbrouck Heights schools closed early on Friday due to the impending storm.

NJ Transit suspended bus service as of 8 p.m. Friday until further notice. Customers are advised to check the website for updates on service.
