UPDATE: Massive Brush Fire Rages In Berkeley,…

Vehicle Flips Over on MacArthur Ave

Driver sent to the hospital for treatment for neck pain, police said.

The driver of a vehicle which flipped over after hitting a parked car on MacArthur Avenue was sent to the hospital Monday afternoon, said Hasbrouck Heights Police Officer Scott Adamo.

Adamo said it's believed the driver was going too fast travelling east on MacArthur towards the Boulevard. The vehicle went airborne when it struck the parked vehicle and overturned, he said.

The driver was given a summons for careless driving. Adamo said it is not believed the weather or road conditions led to the accident.

Adamo said the driver managed to vacate the vehicle before police arrived at the scene. She was taken to the hospital to be treated for neck pain, he said.

No one was in the parked vehicle at the time it was struck and no one else was hurt, said Adamo.

I live on Mac Arthur ave and for 15 years I have been telling them that they fly up and down this block and they say they can't do anything about it. This is not the first time there was an accident on this block because they were speeding. One day someone is going to get hit or killed and then maybe they will do something.

>>they say they can't do anything about it<< No way do police respond like that. It was probably more like >we have to witness/record the infraction to issue a ticket<>we can't be everywhere at once<

I have lived on MacArthur for 23 years my WHOLE life and ive yelled at many people who speed up and down the block. Many are people who live on the block. Over 10 years ago there was a lady who used to speed up and down and my father told her 'you are going to hit one of these kids one day' and sure enough she hit a kid folded his bike in half broke both legs an arm and many other injuries. They really need to do something about it esp. since its right off 46

We NEED speed bumps

The speed limit is posted 25! Not 55! This speeding has to STOP! This town is the hub for highways. The police just received a raise so how about being stationed at these areas? Instead I see them on their iPhones texting. DISGRACE! SPEEDING HAS TO STOP NOW!

Please get out your iPhone and video the speeding. Speeders are running up and down these streets ALL DAY LONG. I'm positive you will get at least 10 speeders in a half hour then send the video (include the plate #) to the police who told you "they can't be everywhere"

Ricky---- I am not saying that the police have to be everywhere at all times. I understand they can't. But we never see heights cops on our block unless something happens. More Lodi cops drive down. There was a mobile speeding sign placed saying ur speed an to slow down and they didn't even care the cars kept flying down. Nothing else was EVER done!!!!!!!!!!!

Mobile Speeding signs...GREAT DETERANT! and Stop for people in Crosswalk. Something?!!! I completely agree with Melissa!
