Former Hasbrouck Heights Man Found Dead in NYC [UPDATE]

Reports say the man found dead in the West Village early Sunday formerly lived in Hasbrouck Heights. Michael Jones currently lived in New York and was a soccer coach.

The man found stabbed to death early Sunday on a West Village sidewalk has been identified as Michael Jones, a former Hasbrouck Heights resident who currently lived in West Harrison, New York, according to the NYPD.

Lieutenant John Grimpel of the NYPD told Patch police learned of the updated address from family members.

Jones, a native of Liverpool, England, was a soccer coach with the Red Bulls Youth Training Program, according to a NorthJersey.com report.

A report in the New York Post said the 25-year old had suffered "multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest" on 14th street near 5th Avenue.

The Post posted images of the crime scene, including one of the man's blood-splattered iPhone. The Post termed the scene "gory" and reported that the man's suffered numerous stab wounds to the neck and chest.
