Heights Woman Dies Two Days After Being Struck By Vehicle

Reports say the 72-year old Hasbrouck Heights woman was struck by a vehicle when she was crossing Summit Avenue in Hackensack Monday evening.

Hackensack Police have reported that a 72-year old woman from Hasbrouck Heights died early Wednesday, two days after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing a city street that evening, according to NorthJersey.com.

The woman, identified as Janina Backlawska, was crossing South Summit Avenue when she was struck by a 4-door sedan, NorthJersey.com reports.

The woman was reportedly severely injured and taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, NJ.com reports. The driver of the vehicle that struck Backlawska has not been charged, reports said.
