Multi-Vehicle Accident Sends Child to the Hospital

Accident involved an ambulance in mid-transport and two other vehicles. Fire chief says one youngster was taken to the hospital.

A multi-vehicle accident involving an ambulance shut down a portion of Terrace Avenue Tuesday afternoon and sent one youngster to the hospital.

The accident involved three vehicles - a private EMS and medical transportion vehicle, which was in transport of a patient to the hospital, a sedan vehicle and a mini-van. It was unclear what caused the accident, said Second Assistant Fire Chief Angelo Roccoma of the . 

Hasbrouck Heights EMS transported the patient to the hospital. One youngster from another vehicle and his mother were also taken to the hospital. All others were evaulated by EMS workers, Roccoma said. No details as to the severity of the injuries were given.

Moonachie and Wood-Ridge EMS were also on the scene.

Fire and police personnel were on hand directing traffic as Terrace was closed between Franklin and Jefferson avenues.
