Numerous Underage Drinkers Found at Hotel Party, Police Say

Police officials say all were from out-of-town

broke up a party with numerous underage drinkers at a hotel last week, according to department officials.

Police Chief Michael Colaneri and Captain Jack DeLorenzo said an investigation is ongoing into the incident which took place last Wednesday at the on Terrace Avenue. Colaneri says all parties involved, including the hotel, are on board to prevent similar incidents.    

Police received a call from the front desk of the hotel shortly before midnight reporting a noise complaint from a large party on the second floor. Police found numerous underage drinkers, from 18 to 20 years old, according to the chief. All of the people at the party were from out of town, DeLorenzo said.

The hotel was not at fault and records showed the room was rented out to an adult, age 25, the captain explained. Until the complaint about the noise, the party had gone unnoticed, DeLorenzo said, adding that those attending must have arrived through different entrances at different times and in small groups.

No one was charged at the time of the incident, police said. Parents were called to the scene and had to sign for their child’s release.
