Boy, 17, Stabs Sister Dead in Washington Township, Prosecutor Says

Travis Gallo allegedly stabbed his sister, Teia, with a kitchen knife.

A Washington Township 17-year-old allegedly stabbed his sister to death in their home Thursday, according to Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli.

Travis Gallo allegedly "stabbed victim numerous times" with a kitchen knife following an argument. Molinelli identified the victim as Teia Gallo, 20, Travis' sister.

Investigators from the Prosecutor's Office, Bergen County Sheriff's Office and Washington Township Police Department responded to 460 Pershing Ave. after a child who lives at the house called 911 at 5:26 p.m. No one else was home at the time of the incident.

The home was owed by Dr. Robert Gallo, a Hackensack-based obstetrician-gynecologist, and Theresa Gallo. The family had 12 children, including three who were adopted. Both Travis and Teia were adopted, according to Molinelli.

Charges were expected to be filed early Friday, according to Molinelli.

Further details about the incident were not immediately available.
