Police Made Three DWI Arrests This Weekend

Police say two incidents involved car crashes; a third involved a driver passed out at the wheel

say three DWI arrests were made this weekend as a result of two separate car crash incidents and a third incident where a driver was found passed out behind the wheel.

Ricardo Palomino, 22, of Lyndhurst was arrested Friday on DWI charges, according to Captain Jack DeLorenzo.

The captain said Lyndhurst Police responded to a Heights- broadcasted message  following a report that a vehicle fled the scene of a crash on Terrace Avenue and was then seen entering Route 80 westbound in the wrong direction.  DeLorenzo said Lyndhurst police tracked down the vehicle in front of Palomino’s home.

Early Saturday morning, Heights police charged Alexa Colon, 37, of Paterson, with DWI following a crash on Route 17 North where her vehicle hit the guard rail just past the Route 46 entrance, the captain said.

Later that night at about 12:38 a.m. Sunday, police charged borough resident Keith Jousset, 30, with DWI, DeLorenzo said. Police found Jousset passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle which was stopped in the middle of Longworth with the engine still running, the captain said.
