No Signs of Gunfire in Hasbrouck Heights Shots Fired Report [UPDATE]

Incident reported near the Bendix Diner

Two people detained after a motorist reported gunfire on Route 17 near the Bendix Diner have been released and police say the initial report was unfounded.

Police initially reported there were gunshots, but said later they had not verified the report. No evidence of gunshots were found at the scene after a search by local police and a Bergen County police K-9 unit.

Route 17 southbound was closed in the area near the diner, but has since been reopened.

Two people were seen handcuffed at the scene, but were later let go.
