Route 17 Back to Normal After Morning Transformer Fire

Police say power has since been returned to those businesses which were out earlier in the day Tuesday following an earlier transformer fire on Route 17 North.

UPDATE 12:50 p.m. - All power has been restored to those affected by an outage caused by early morning transformer fire, Hasbrouck Heights Police Lt. Jim Miller confirms.

A transformer blew on a utility pole on the northbound side of Route 17 near the car wash just after 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

First Assistant Fire Chief Pat Hayes had told Patch early Tuesday that most of the businesses in that area of Route 17 had no power as a result.
