Readers Can Report Dangerous Intersections, Speeding Areas

Use the interactive map to report intersections you believe are most dangerous to pedestrians and drivers and other road concerns.

Readers have been chiming in in the comments section or on the Hasbrouck Heights Facebook page from time to time regarding high speed areas, dangerous intersections and other road concerns.

We've been listening and we have now put together this interactive map so readers can mark down areas they find to be of concern. Is there an intersection you avoid because you feel it's dangerous? Do drivers tend to speed down your street? Have you spotted a pothole that has gone unnoticed? Use the map above mark and share the information with your neighbors.

Select the Report An Issue button to drag the orange marker to the spot you'd like to highlight. Use the plus and minus buttons to zoom in and out.

Springfield and Summit should also have a 4-way stop. People speed up Springfield all the time and it seems to make no difference to the drivers if children are around, school is in session at Euclid, etc.

Personally I am sick and tired of all these 4 way stops what we really need is more patrol cars out giving tickets. If you want to know where to control the problem areas there is the Dunkin Donuts on the Boulevard that clearly states no left turn out of the driveway but tons of people ignore it, the area on the Boulevard where Rt 17 enters past Garibaldi Ave people are constantly passing on the right down to the Area by BeJays, what about the speeding that is done from Oakgrove down to Lodi daily on Franklin there is a 4 way stop at the junction of Oakgrove and Franklin and that has not stopped the speading not to mention the trucks that go up or down that block - heavy trucks I thought they were not allowed on that street but if no one stops them they will continue to use it. I know the police can't be everywhere but these are problem areas for years and 4 way stops are not the answer.

Allie is right, what's the sense of 4 way stops if there is no enforcement. She named all the hot spots, yet you don't see enforcement. Same thing with cell phones, texting, etc., where is the enforcement?

two intersections that should be patroled more often is the corner of Madison and Boulevard. Drivers speed through not stopping creating a hazard for the kids going to the Library. The other a block away is Central and Boulevard hazardous for commuters coming home from work in the evening getting off the bus.

My entire life living here, I have witnessed and been involved in more near accidents on the corner of Oak Grove and Jefferson. They completely bypassed this area when they put the 4 ways in. I have no idea why but there should be one there
