Teens Arrested for Underage Drinking

Police say four underclassmen were found with alcohol in their possession at the swim club parking lot on graduation night.

Four teens were arrested Friday night after they were found with alcohol in the Hasbrouck Heights Swim Club parking lot, police said Monday. 

The teens were brought to police headquarters and released to their parents, Sgt. Joseph Rinke, of the police department's juvenile bureau said. 

The incident took place while the high school graduation ceremony was taking place at the Bergen Academies in Hackensack.

But the incident was not linked to any type of graduation celebration, Rinke said, adding that the four teens were all underclassmen. 

In April, Hasbrouck Heights Police broke up a were found —all of whom were believed to be from out of town, police had said.

Rinke said he was in the process of determining how the teens will be adjudicated.
