Field Upgrades Planned for October

New decorative fence for the Franklin Avenue side of the field will likely be installed early October.

By this time next month should have its brand new fence installed but it will still be some time until the other planned improvements are done.

According to Ken Job, the borough’s engineer, the new decorative fence for the Franklin Avenue side of the field has been ordered and is expected to be in by end of September and will be installed immediately following. He said previously the fence will not take long to install and will not interfere with the game schedule.

After much discussion for more than a year it was decided this past spring that the new fence will be decorative, resembling the same black iron style fence which is along side the Oldfield Avenue side of the field.

Job said the other planned upgrades, which includes repaving of the parking area for ambulances on the Franklin side and some miscellaneous drainage improvements, will have to be done after football season so  as to not interfere with game schedules.

Other plans also include the installation of a pavilion near the snack bar. No time frame was given for when these upgrades would begin.
