Heights to Move Ahead With Park Pavillion, Road Improvements This Week

Hasbrouck Heights mayor and council are expected to approve funding towards the Woodland Park pavilion project and borough road improvements when they convene this Tuesday night for the regular public meeting and work session.

The park pavilion project was given the green light months ago however the borough is investing some additional funding towards it in order to award a contract to get the work done. Back in December the lowest bid came in slightly higher than what was previously allocated due to some changes to the scope of the project.

The new pavilion will replace the current one which is said to have more than outlasted its lifespan. Half the funding for the project comes from a Bergen County Open Space Grant. The project should still be on track to be completed by spring, according to Mike Kronyak, borough adminstrator. 

The road improvements to be done this year are expected to include parts of Bell, Springfield and Walter avenues funded by the borough's capital improvement fund.
