New Outdoor Dining Option Approved

Council unanimously approved an amendment to the borough's sidewalk cafe ordinance which allows restaurants with corner properties to expand the outdoor seating along the side of the property.

Some eateries along the Boulevard can now expand their outdoor seating options during the fair weather months.

Council members unanimously approved an amendment to the borough’s sidewalk café ordinance so that restaurants with corner properties can add tables and chairs along the side in addition to out front provided the space meets the conditions of the ordinance.

to no further back than 50 feet from the Boulevard and no closer than 5 feet from a residential entrance, as per the ordinance. If the side of the restaurant faces a side-street only half of the sidewalk could be used. Businesses would also need a sidewalk café license if they do not already have one.

The outdoor dining option has also been months. Businesses which qualify could offer outdoor seating from April 1 until Oct. 31.
