Officials Election Results Show No Change in Council Election Results

Voters elected Democrat challenger Christian Semenecz and Republican incumbent Russell Lipari to the borough council.

Official election results released this week by the Bergen County Clerk's Office show no change in the outcome of the Nov. 6 election - Voters elected Republican  Russell Lipari back in for a second term and Democrat Christian Semenecz, making him the first Democrat to be elected to the all-Republican council in several years.

The official vote counts from the county clerk's office are:

John Dingertopadre - Republican  - 2,242, 31.04 percent
Russell Lipari - Republican - 2,463, 34.1 percent
Christian Semenecz - Democrat - 2,517, 34.85 percent

A total of 7,222 votes were cast, according to the county clerk's office.

There is not much change from the results presented on Election Night with Semenecz, who was the sole challenger in the race, still coming out as the top vote gainer and Lipari coming coming in right behind.

Dingertopadre, who was seeking re-election was edged out by just a few hundred votes.

Semenecz will be the sole Democrat on an all Republican council with a Republican mayor.

The Hasbrouck Heights reorganization meeting is scheduled for Jan. 1.
