Police Salary Ordinances for 2012 Approved

Arbitration process completed earlier this year reflects a 2.2 percent increase for 2012

Borough officials approved an ordinance Tuesday night to adjust the police department salaries for 2012 to reflect the 2.2 percent raise which was agreed upon during the .

The approval of the ordinance is just routine practice to affix the salaries prior o the start of the new year, Borough Admnistrator Mike Kronyak explained.

A separate ordinance was also approved by officials Tuesday which affixes the 2 percent salary increase for Police Chief Michael Colaneri.

Following the completion of a year-long arbitration process earlier this year, the borough approved two ordinances over the summer to affix police salary increases for 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Those oridinances reflected a salary increase of 2.25 percent for 2010, 2.2 percent for both 2011 and 2012 for all patrolmen at different ranking levels and higher ranked officials including the captains, lieutenants and sergeants.

Funding for the 2010 and 2011 increases were already included in the budgets for those respective years, officials said back in July.
