Depken Field Gets New Sound System

Parent of Athletes, Junior Football and Hall of Fame committee donated the new system for the athletic field.

Thanks to the generosity of three athletics groups the Depken athletic field will soon have a new upgraded sound system.

The Board of Education accepted the donation of the new sound system last week which comes from the Parents of Athletes, Junior Football and the Hall of Fame Committee. On behalf of the board, trustee Connie Doheny publicly thanked the groups commeting that the new system is greatly needed.

This new system will replace the current portable one as it will be permanently mounted, explained Mike Scuilla athletic director.

Currently the portable system, which was donated by the Junior Football some years ago, has to be brought up to the roof for every event. The new system will be permanently mounted onto the press box with a wall mounted rack system.

The sound system includes an iPod dock, CD player, announcers microphones including a wireless mic which can be used on the field, Scuillla explained.

With one flip of a switch the entire system is ready to go, Scuilla says.

It is expected the system will be installed within or week or so, according to Scuilla.
