No Contest for Board of Ed, Ciocia Not Seeking Re-Election

Two incumbents and one newcomer will run for the three available seats in November.

The this year will see no contest for the three available seats up for re-election.

Longtime trustee Constance Doheny seeks re-election as well as Mark Stefanelli who was to serve out the remainder of a term left vacant by former trustee Richard Giarratana who resigned in September.

Newcomer Robert M. LaMorte will run for the third available seat.

Current Board of Education President Josephine Ciocia, whose term expires this year, has previously told Patch .

Hasbrouck Heights joined the majority of school districts in Bergen County which voted to move its school board election from April to November.

As a result the three seats up for re-election this year were extended until Dec. 31.

The deadline to file petition with the county Board of Elections to run in the November election was Tuesday at 4 p.m.
