Rinke Named New Heights Board of Education President

Three Board of Ed trustees were sworn in Thursday night and new president and vice president elected.

Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education elected a new President and swore in its newest trustees at the annual reorganization meeting Thursday.

Board of Education trustee Joseph Rinke was voted as the new President for the new year. Rinke formerly served as vice president. Board trustee Lillian Romano has been voted as the new vice president.

Constance Doheny was sworn into a third term on the Board of Education along with trustee Mark Stefanelli who was sworn in to his first full three-year term and Robert LaMorte who was sworn into his first term.

Former Board of Education President Josephine Ciocia, who did not seek re-election, congratulated Rinke and Romano while sitting in the audience for the first time in six years.

This past year marked the first Board of Education election held in November. There was no contest for the three seats available on the board.

The Heights Board of Education election will once again be held in November this year. Up for re-election are Rinke, Romano and Mark Nazzaro.

What a joke. Isn't Rink the guy who had that mother arrested at Back to School Night a few years ago. The Mother who was complaining that the school board wasn't doing anything to address the bullying taking place in the middle school? The mother who was eventually found not guilty. The mother who is currently involved in a law suit with the board of education for something like 10 million dollars because they failed to protect her daughter in school after she asked them to do something about the bullying? Nice, now he is in charge... Glad I don't have kids in the school system anymore...
