Heights Honors Its First Undefeated Recreation Team

The 12 U girls softball team finished 17-0 for the season.

Hasbrouck Heights recognized the players and coaches of the recreation department's 12 U girls softball team which went undefeated this season with a 17-0 record.

Tuesday night proud parents filled the council chambers to watch the girls receive certificates from the mayor and council. As Recreation Director Robert Brady pointed out, this team is the first recreation team to go undefeated.

The 17-0 record along with their six wins at the 12U UGALS Summer Classic which also resulted in a championship gives the team an overall record of 23-0.

Team manager Frank Gasparino called the team "a dream bunch" stating that it was the girls' "killer instinct and never letting go" that led them to this succesful season. On behalf of all the coaches, Gasparino told the girls they all enjoyed watching them play and will miss them when they all move on next season.

The recreation 12U girls softball team champions are: Kate Palmieri, Rachel Weber, Nicole Blanco, Amanda DeJulia, Courtney Summers, Emma Nichols, Victoria Vizzachero, Jessica Gasparino, Gabby Cruz, Brianna Blanco, Micah Nollara, Emma Mason, Sarah Bailey, Alexis Blanco, Dana Bincoletto, Tori Buckman.

Along with Gasparino as team manager, coaches of the team are: John Bincoletto, Tony Bonillo, Mike Blanco, Lou Vizzachero, Dave Palmieri and Kevin Cruz.
