Hasbrouck Heights Hosts Independence Day Celebrations

Annual fireworks display and childrens July 4th parade return

Hasbrouck Heights families can celebrate Independence Day next week during the annual Fireworks celebration and childrens parade.

Once again the Lions Club sponsors the Fireworks display which is set for Tuesday, July 2 at Depken Field. The rain date is Friday, July 5 and extended rain date is Sunday, July 7.

Tickets can be obtained at the Tax Office at Borough Hall during regular business hours - 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Tickets cost $3 in advance and $5 at the gate. The gate will open at 7 p.m. and the Fireworks show will begin at dark.

The childrens July 4th parade returns to Woodland Park next Thursday on the holiday. Registration begins at 9 a.m and the parade starts at 9:30 a.m.

Children are encouraged to wear red, white and blue and there will be awards presented in a number of categories including: costumed children on foot, wagons and tricycles, carragies and strollers, decorated bicycles, floats and grandparents corner. Children on bicycles or tricycles are encouraged to wear their helmets in the parade.
