More than 300 participants are signed up to take to the field this weekend among 37 teams. Many groups held individual fundraising events to raise funds for the Relay.

Entertainment this year includes music from the band Straight Shot and activities for the children include a clown and moon bounce, says Kistner. There will also be karaoke and games throughout the night including musical chairs and a scavenger hunt, she said.

The event will begin with a celebratory walk for the survivors which will be followed by a walk of the caregivers walking in honor of someone who is fighting the disease or in memory of a loved one. Once again the track will be lit with lumanarias which could be purchased in memory of a deceased loved one.

Lumanarias can be purchased from team members or through the Relay for Life website for a $10 donation. To make a donation or to learn more visit relayforlife.org/hasbrouckheightsnj.
