The Hasbrouck Police Department is housed in the Public Safety Building located on Hamilton Avenue one block east ofMore the Boulevard across from the senior housing development.

The Public Safety Building is also home to the borough's Volunteer Fire Department and EMS.

The police department is currently 29 members strong.

The borough of Hasbrouck Heights, which was incorporated in 1894, is home to more than 11,000 residents.More The borough is governed by an elected mayor and six council members. The municipal complex is home to the municipal offices, library and senior center. The building was officially dedicated Dec. 14, 2003. Originally the borough offices, along with police and fire departments, were located on Hamilton Avenue. That building was destroyed in a fire in 1999, which was said to have been caused by an electrical problem. 

The Mayor and Council meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month in the council chambers.

Central Avenue Park

The newest park and playground area in the borough is located on the corner of Central Avenue and the Boulevard justMore across from Borough Hall. The monument, which faces the Boulevard, honors the late members of the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department. Behind it sits a free parking lot with access from Central Avenue. There is a small gated playground at the back end of the park which includes a small picnic area, swings and a slide.
Firemen's Memorial Park

On the southwest corner of the Boulevard at the circle at Passaic Avenue sits a small park featuring a Sept. 11More memorial. The park was dedicated on the one-year anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks. The Firemen's Memorial Park was founded in memory of the firefighters, police and emergency services who lost their lives. The park also features a memorial to the volunteer firefighters who have served the borough. This memorial was dedicated by the Hasbrouck Heights Volunteer Fire Department on July 4, 1951.
