Boulevard Construction Continues With Crosswalk Installation

The last major construction component of the current Boulevard improvement project is expected to continue this week.

Construction to install new crosswalks to a two-block section of the Boulevard is slated to begin this week. The project has been ongoing since the summer and this will be the last major construction component in this current phase of the revitalization project according to Borough Engineer Ken Job. Originally it was stated this work would begin at the end of October but the hurricane pushed most projects back a week or two. New crosswalks will be put in at the intersections of Boulevard at Franklin and Hamilton avenues. New sidewalks and pavers were put in in this two-block section along with new light poles and new trees. The construction of the crosswalks will just about complete this phase in the project. Will be happy when it's finished. The Blvd businesses have felt it terribly. The parking problem is bad enough...then to arrive at work to discover the road is closed. I know for myself I could have changed my hours for this week if I had some kind of warning. I do want to comment though that you are doing a great job and I enjoy receiving daily e.mails from patch!
