Heights Police Crackdown on Drunk Driving

Officers will begin taking part in "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" part of a nationwide initiative to crackdown on impaired driving during the late summer/Labor Day holiday period.

Hasbrouck Heights police officers are taking part in a statewide crackdown against drunk driving. The crackdown is part of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. Beginning this weekend, Heights police officers will aggressively look for impaired drivers over the coming weeks, especially during high risk times which includes weekends and nighttime hours, said Police Chief Michael Colaneri. The chief said the campaign is intended to target impaired driving during this late summer and Labor Day holiday period.  The campaign runs from Friday, Aug. 17 until Sept. 3, Labor Day.
