Euclid PTA Appreciates its Teachers

Full week of activities were planned in honor of the elementary school teachers

Euclid School PTA once again went all out for the teachers of the elementary school to say "thank you" during annual Teacher Appreciation Week. Denise Buckman, presidents of the Euclid PTA, says appreciation week kicked off by inviting each teacher to a special caterd "thank you" luncheon sponsored by the PTA to be held on June 12. Tuesday was "Bingo Tuesday" where each class played the game and the winning class earned a free recess period and the teacher of that class received a gift basket with gift certificate to a spa. On Wednesday the PTA raffled off 22 gift bakets all with themes and two special ones which had tickets to see the Yankees or the Mets. Euclid PTA Announces Anti-Drug Campaign Contest Winners

Students took part in bookmark contest and essay contest during Drug Awareness week.

Euclid School PTA has announced the winners of the bookmark and essay contests which students took part in last week during annual Drug Awareness week held in the schools. One student was declared the winner in each grade in the bookmark contest. The winners are: Matthew Wester - Kindergarten Sophia Lara - First Grade Brendan Miller - Second Grade Gabrielle Thibault - Third Grade Eisha Kahn - Fourth Grade Julia Campen - Fifth Grade D.A.R.E. essay contest winners are: Natalia Facchini Nicholas Zarillo Eva Bellofatto Students were recognized Friday during the anti-drug rally where Mayor Rose Heck and police officials were in attendance.

Support Euclid PTA By Eating at Lovey's This Month

Local business has partnered with the Euclid School PTA on a fundraiser to benefit the school.

Each Tuesday this month is an opportunity to support the Euclid School PTA thanks to a partnership with Lovey's Pizza. Dine-in or order take-out from Lovey's Pizza any Tuesday in October, beginning Oct. 2, and the restaurant will donate a portion of the bill to Euclid School. Lovey's will donate 10 percent of the bill for pick-up or delivery orders and 15 percent for dine-in. Mention Euclid School upon ordering. Lovey's is located at 209 Boulevard, Hasbrouck Heights.

Euclid PTA Officers Ready for Next School Year

Euclid School PTA conducted installation of its 2012-2013 executive board this past Tuesday night at the regular monthly meeting. New members to the board are Kristen Schaeffer, corresponding secretary and Lori Bothe, treasurer. Other executive board members for the upcoming school year are: Terri Metz, president; Denise Buckman, first vice president; Lisa Castellano, second vice president; Shannon Porto, recording secretary.

PTA Has All the Right Ingredients For New Fundraiser Idea

Euclid School family cookbook features recipes from parents, teachers and some students.

The Euclid School PTA has cooked up a great idea. Parents and teachers came together to share some of their favorite recipes which the PTA compiled into the “Alphabet Soup: Our Euclid School Family of Recipes.” Diane Robertson, of the Euclid PTA, helped spearhead the idea for this cookbook, a fundraiser for the PTA. Proceeds from the book, which sells for $10, benefits the students, Robertson said. The PTA formed a cookbook committee and recipes from parents, teachers, even some of the students began to pour in, she explained. The book features about 150 recipes, some of which are really near and dear to the heart of those who shared them.
