Pizza Making Event for Teens Offered This Weekend

The Junior Friends of the Hasbrouck Heights library are hosting this event at Roma Pizza this Sunday.

Teens can get some hands on experience learning to make pizza Sunday as the Junior Friends of the Hasbrouck Heights Library hosts its first "Cooking with the Juniors" event at Roma Pizza. The event is set for Sunday, April 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Roma Pizza chef and owner Nick Capasso will host the pizza making event. This program is open to teens from 12-17 and all participants must fill out a permission slip at the time of payment. There is a limit to 20 teens and slots are filling up fast. Those interested are asked to fill out a permisson slip and return it to the library circulation desk as soon as possible. There is a $10 fee for materials to make a small one-topping pizza. Heights Library Offers Free Social Media Marketing Seminar

Two-hour breakfast event is geared towards business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs who want to learn how to attract new prospects and build client relationships.

The Hasbrouck Heights Public Library invites all business owners and/or aspiring entrepreneurs to a free two-hour breakfast event Wednesday, April 10, which will bring together NJ business partners and a team of business marketing experts, for a training session on social media and email marketing. Join Heights Friends of Library for Dessert Friday

Fundraiser event benefits the library and its programs

The Friends of the Hasbrouck Heights Library invite the community to join them Friday, April 5 for an evening of "Just Desserts." The event will be held at the library from 7 to 9p.m. and will feature an array of desserts which can be enjoyed with coffee or tea. Tickets cost $12 for adults and $6 for children 11 and under. Spring Break Fun for Heights Youngsters at Library

Activities for kids grades K-6 take place next week

Once again the Hasbrouck Heights Library has put together a schedule of fun programs for the kids, grades K to 6, to enjoy while school is out on spring break next week. Tuesday, April 9 the very popular Book Bingo returns. From 11 a.m. to noon kids can come in to play picture Bingo based on favorite book characters. Winners take home books and prizes of their choice. Wednesday, April 10 the library will screen the film "Wreck-It-Ralph" on the big screen in the commuity room across the library. The movie will be shown from 3 to 4:30 p.m. It's Rated PG. Popcorn and water will be provided by the Friends of the Library. Junior Friends of the Heights Library Meets Friday

First annual meeting is set for March 22 from 3 to 5 p.m.

The Junior Friends of the Hasbrouck Heights Public Library, a division of the Friends open to youngsters ages 4 to 17, will conduct their third annual meeting Friday, March 22 to discuss ideas for the coming years. The meeting will be held at the library meeting from 3 to 5 p.m. Pizza dinner will be provided at 3:30 p.m. The Junior Friends membership gives youngsters the opportunity to get involved with the library and is also a community service opportunity for those who need to fulfil a required amount of hours. The Juniors have sponsored many recent events at the Library including the "Freaky Friday" event last summer which featured a guest apperance by esteemed author Mary Rodgers. HH Junior Women's Club Hosts Special Storytime Thursday

Storytime event set for 7 p.m. at the Hasbrouck Heights Library, March 21

The Hasbrouck Heights Junior Womans Club hosts a special storytime at the library Thursday, March 21 based on the theme of seeing eyes dogs for the blind. Children will be read a special story "Raising Otto" about a lab puppy who is trained as a guide dog for the blind. Children will then get a special visit from a woman and her guide dog, a graduate of The Seeing Eye organization which raises guide dogs. The library is located at 320 Boulevard. The event begins at 7 p.m.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover Returns March 15

Last year's event was such a smash hit with the youngsters the library is welcoming the stuffed animals toys back to the library for another sleepover event.

Neighborhood youngsters' stuffed animals are gearing up to party at the Hasbrouck Heights Library once again. Last year's event was a hit with the youngsters and their toys. Once again the youngsters age 3 to 7 are invited to come to the library Friday, March 15 along with one of their stuffed toys to take part in some crafts and bed time stories. The youngsters are encouraged to wear their pajamas and will get the chance to tuck their stuffed toys in for the night. In the morning the youngsters and their parents will return for breakfast to pick up their toys and see photos of all the adventures the toys had while they spent the night at the library.
