Heights Teams Up with Old Tappan on the Ice

The high school as entered an ice hockey coop program with Northern Valley Old Tappan High School.

This fall six hockey players from Hasbrouck Heights High School will take to the ice as part of a coop team with Northern Valley Regional High School in Old Tappan. Through this coop team the players from Heights have an opportunity to play the sports through their high school while Old Tappan is able to add players to its team which it needs to as a result of many members graduating this year, according to NorthJersey.com Mike Scuilla, Hasbrouck Heights athletic director, tells Patch there had been talks over the past year or more about the possibliity of developing an ice hockey. Heights May Consider Co-op Ice Hockey Program

Paramus Board of Education trustees hope to co-op with Hasbrouck Heights in order to save its ice hockey program.

Hasbrouck Heights school district is considering proposals from area high schools looking to co-op their ice hockey programs. Paramus High School, one of the schools which has made a proposal to the Heights district, is hoping to co-op in order to save its program. The Spartan team has decreased in the number of players over the past year and will need players from an outside district joining in order to keep it going, Paramus Board of Ed trustees say.  Hasbrouck Heights has taken part in co-op teams such as Wood-Ridge for example for other sports but has yet to have its student atheltes play ice hockey. According to Heights BOE trustee Connie Doheny, the district is considering the proposal from Paramus and also one from Old Tappan. …
