Heights Families Pray for Peace in Wake of Newtown Tragedy

Cub Scout Pack 17 families took part in the second annual Peace Light ceremony spreading peace, joy and goodwill by sharing a flame that traveled all the way from Bethlehem.

Cub Scout Pack 17 members and their families took time out Saturday night to gather at Corpus Christi Church continuing in their tradition of celebrating peace, joy and goodwill during the holiday season, a message especially meaningful in the wake of the Newtown School tragedy. This is the second year the scout pack has taken part in the sharing of the Peace Light, a living flame which is distributed throughout the world traveling thousands of miles from Bethlehem. Once again John Hahn and his son Tim of Troop 15 in Glen Rock brought the Peace light to Hasbrouck Heights and sharing in their ceremony. Hahn joined the Heights scouts in lighting a candle in the church from the Peace Light flame which was kept alive via an oil lamp. The …
