Beat the Winter Blues with a Great Bowl of Soup

Pick it up, or better yet, make your own

There are a lot of reasons to despise winter and the current onslaught of snow and ice storms have not done anything to help boast the spirits.  Perhaps this is the reason that everyone I talked to this week randomly brought up the topic of soup—eating it, making it and great places to go get it. It all started when Hasbrouck Heights resident Anthony Claudio was discussing how he went to this amazing restaurant that insisted he try a portion of all the soups they were offering and how delicious they all were. This, of course, instantly resulted in a craving for some of mom’s homemade soups. Now, I have mastered most of the classic soups, including minestrone, chicken, lentil, and pea but there is one that I just can't quite get to taste …
