Supporters of the Friends of the Hasbrouck Heights Library came together Sunday for a special Chinese New Year celebration which featured a live musical performance by the Hasbrouck Heights Tibetan Youth Group. The event, a fundraiser for the Friends which work to support many programs year round at the library, was held at the Asian Grille in East Rutherford. Two of the Tibetan Youth Group members are active with the Junior Friends of the Library shared the history of the youth group where they learn writing, reading, religion and music. The Hasbrouck Heights Friends of the Library are once again hosting a Chinese New Year celebration this month, a fundraiser for the organization which regularly supports programs and provides assistance to the borough's public library. The luncheon event is set for Sunday, Feb. 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Asian Grill Restaurant located on Route 17 North in East Rutherford. Tickets, which cost $39, must be purchased in advance as tickets will not be sold at the door. Cost includes price of meal, soft drinks, gratuity and helps support the Friends of the Library.
