Heights Students Learn to 'Just Say No'

Both Euclid and Lincoln School students take part in activities all week designed to teach them about the dangers of drugs during annual Drug Prevention Week.

In the classrooms of Euclid and Lincoln school this week students are learning all about the dangers of drugs and why it's so important to remember to 'Just Say No.' Annual Drug Prevention Week kicked off on Monday and activities continue all week concluding with the a big anti-drug rally on Friday where the students at both schools will hear important inspiring messages from the police department heads and other town officials about why it's so important to stay away from drugs. Each day the students are taking part in a clothing theme, each one symbolizing a special message such as on Monday when students wore pajamas to school to promoting the message "Wake Up Drug Free." Students Graduate DARE Program, First 2013 Council Meeting This Week

A sneak peak into the week ahead in Hasbrouck Heights

Coming up this week on Patch Hasbrouck Heights fifth graders will graduate the D.A.R.E. program this week during a special ceremony at the high school gym Thursday night. Each year the fifth grade students at both Euclid and Lincoln elementary schools take part in the Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education program taught by Hasbrouck Heights Police Department's Sgt. Joseph Rinke. The entire week will also be devoted to Drug Awarness as both schools will take part in activities designed to teach students about the dangers of drugs. There will be assemblies all week which will conclude with drug free rallies at both the schools on Friday morning.
